NV Packers engaged AGER BI to enhance its existing Power BI reporting platform by integrating operational data from the Tatou farm management system, incorporating budget data and improving the existing semantic model. The objective was to provide management with a more complete and reliable view of operational performance, labour costs and financial results through a consolidated reporting solution.

Delivered over a focused two-week (80-hour) engagement, the project combined operational and financial information into a single reporting platform while extending existing Power BI reports to support better operational and management decision-making.

Rather than replacing the existing reporting environment, AGER BI built upon the current investment by enhancing the semantic model, integrating new data sources and delivering additional reporting capability.

NV Packers already had an established Power BI reporting environment; however, important operational and financial information was stored across separate systems.

Operational picking and packing information was held within the Tatou farm management platform, while budget information existed separately from operational reporting. This limited management’s ability to analyse operational performance alongside financial outcomes.

A key component of the engagement was integrating operational data from the Tatou farm management system.

AGER BI developed Power Query functions to retrieve data from the Tatou REST API, handling authentication, pagination and JSON transformation before loading the required information into the reporting model.

Relevant operational datasets were incorporated into the existing model and linked with existing business data to provide a richer analytical experience.

This removed the need for manual data preparation while ensuring operational information could be refreshed automatically.
